Indoor Pickleball Now Available at The Hut

Winter Weather Doesn’t Need to Stop the Pickleball Action

NEWPORT, R.I. (FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2021) –Newport Recreation will be offering pickleball enthusiasts the opportunity to take the game inside by renting the two pickleball courts located at The Hut in advance on select days this winter. 
 
Beginning Sunday, Nov. 21^st, Newport residents will be able to log on to the City’s online registration platform at register.communitypass.net/cityofnewport, to rent both courts for up to two hours on Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays.
 
Courts will be available at the following times: Sundays, from 8– 10 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; Mondays from 4-6 p.m.; and on Fridays from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
 
Due to demand, players will be limited to reserving only one time slot per month and reservations are only being accepted for the month of December.
 
Newport residents may sign up beginning November 21^st, while non-residents may sign up beginning December 1^st. The cost per rental is $125 for Newport residents and $150 for non-residents.

If you’re thinking about joining in on the fun, Newport Recreation will also be offering beginner pickleball classes and additional public play times beginning in January.
